4 delicious pork steaks (from Woudstra’s, of course)
Garlic Salt
¾ c. Nederlanse Marinade – available at Woudstras
Lawrey’s Seasoned Pepper
One or two sweet onions, sliced ˝ inch thick
Marinate the 4 pork steaks in the ¾ cup of marinade for ½ - 1 hour before grilling. This is very easy if you use a 1 gal. Ziploc bag. Put the pork steak in the bag, add the marinade, press out most of the air, and zip shut. Move the pork inside the bag till all areas are covered and put in the fridge until ready to cook. When ready to grill, place the steaks on a large pan and sprinkle both sides with garlic salt and seasoned pepper to taste. (regular pepper can be used) Discard the bag and the used marinade. Peel the onions and slice. Most onions will make 4 nice slices. Brush the slices with fresh marinade and sprinkle with the seasoning. Then brush with olive oil and place the onion slices on the grill a few minutes before the pork, as they may take longer to cook. Add the pork steak and grill approximately 5 minutes per side or until JUST done. Serve the onions on top of the pork steak or in a bowl alongside, or not at all if you don’t like onions! The recipe can be increased or decreased easily by just changing the amount of marinade and number of pork steaks. This also works great with pork chops, just be careful not to overcook so they stay nice and moist.
